Hello friends! Another short and sweet announcement today, then back to our regularly scheduled long-form programming next week.
This one goes out to all of you who are traditional marketers (or friends or co-workers of traditional marketers). Last week, my former classmate and constant consumer/Web3 collaborator, Magdalena Kala, and I launched Meta-Curious: a free, 8-week marketing accelerator aimed at getting traditional (Web2) marketers up-to-speed on all things Web3!
The 411 on MCM
Meta-Curious: Marketing is an 8-week online experience focused on getting innovative marketers in the Web2 space up to speed on all things Web3. Whether you’re looking to launch a NFT-drop for your consumer brand, interested in switching companies, or simply a brand-geek interested in the next iteration of the internet, MCM will have something for you.
We’ll start with basics like the tech behind blockchains and NFTs, move into deep dives on successful (and unsuccessful) NFT drops and communities, compare/contrast working with agencies, influencers, partnerships in Web2 vs. Web3 and explore on emerging topics like DAOs. The collaborative learning experience will include lectures and Q&A with leaders in the Web3 marketing and brand space as well as community events for the cohort.
The cohort is free, but application-based. We’ll meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5/31 to 7/28 at 5p PT for lectures, discussions and Q&A with Web3 leaders, and more. Priority will be given to those who can commit to the 5p PT time, though future cohorts will have different timing!
Why this, why now?
Conversation around all things Web3 has been booming for the past year or so, but education - especially thoughtful and focused education - has been lacking. Mags is a career investor in consumer/culture and is about to launch an investment fund focused on consumer-facing Web3 companies. I spent my career building innovative consumer brands, with a focus on brand and marketing, and in the past couple years shifted to art and by extension, empowerment for artists which brought me to Web3 and NFTs in early 2021.
From different angles we’ve seen how access to information and education can not only impact a company’s trajectory, but also how it can impact an individual’s trajectory, career or otherwise. We’ve been fortunate to have access to education and want to expand that access to more people. For this cohort, we are hyper-focused on marketers but our hope is to expand this in the future.
As two females who have spent most of their careers (lives?) moving in primarily male-dominated spaces, diversity and inclusion is of the utmost importance to us. We’ll be crafting the cohort as a class of 20 with this in mind, as we believe a room of diverse perspectives will lead to the best insights.

We’ve had 100 or so applications come in so far, and based on what we’ve already seen this is shaping up to be an amazing group. That being said - I bet it could be better with you! I’d love to have you, your friend, or your co-worker apply. Again, absolutely no Web3 experience needed. Traditional marketers from across channels, industries, and company-size encouraged to apply.
